The Boulder Creek Jaguars took the measure of the visiting Goldwater Bulldogs on Tuesday, coasting to a 78-60 victory and in the process improved their record to 16-6. The win also got them back on track in Northwest Region play and improved their regional record to 8-2 with four regular season games remaining. The Jags gradually built a comfortable lead in the contest, winning every quarter along the way. Coach Randy Walker and his staff were able to once again go deep into their roster and all Jaguars saw minutes over the course of the game.
Leading the way for Boulder Creek once again was sophomore Josh Braun ( 31 points and 12 rebounds ). He had a strong supporting cast though and the team received valuable production from Stephen Crim ( 12 points, 5 rebounds), Weston Newell (8 points), while Joe Simpson pulled down 6 rebounds. Boulder Creek as a team had 27 rebounds, 15 assists and 14 turnovers during the contest.
The Jaguars are home again this week where they play host to region rival Mountain Ridge before travelling to take on Deer Valley next week. Boulder Creek is in the home stretch of their regular season schedule and want to run the table in order to be in the best possible position going into the state playoffs. They are hoping to have a high class 5A2 ranking so that their playoff run starts with a home court advantage.
