Jags Clip Eagles' Wings

The Boulder Creek Jaguars entered Friday night's game with a singular purpose in mind: Avenge their only conference loss of the season. That they did, coming away with a hard fought but definitive win against Northwest Region foe Sandra Day O'Connor by a final score of 81-69. The Jags found themselves in a first quarter hole but played well enough in the second quarter to head to intermission with a single digit lead. The third quarter was all Boulder Creek as the lead swelled to double digits and the Eagles never seriously threatened down the stretch. The win moves Boulder Creek to an enviable 14-5 mark and the team returns to familiar territory as a leader in Regional standings. Barring any unforeseen calamity the Jaguars are headed for their third consecutive season of superior results in their win/loss record. Jaguar Nation is getting used to a tradition of success but understand it's the result of hard work by the boys, selfless team play and the superb leadership of head coach Randy Walker and his top notch assistants.

This win saw impressive contributions from a host of Jaguars. Leading the way again was sophomore Josh Braun (17 points, 12 boards) and Stephen Crim (18 points). They had plenty of help from point guard Ryan Zettle (17 points, 7 assists), Weston Newell (11 points, 4 steals), Joe Simpson (12 boards), and Cort Watson (11 points). Randyll Roberts, Jake Hunt and Connor Kuchar also provided the Jags with solid minutes in reserve roles, again demonstrating the luxury Coach Walker enjoys as a result of having a deep bench. All their hard work at practice has the entire team ready when called on to compete and contribute.

The Jags return home on January 25th where they will play host to the Kingman Bulldogs. Boulder Creek defeated Kingman earlier this season and are expecting to keep their current win streak alive in that contest. Coach Walker and his Jags are hoping for a large fan base turnout to root the team on and fuel the momentum that they've created. Get there early and get there loud!
