Jags Have Good Tournament Showing

The Boulder Creek Jaguars completed play in two Holiday Tournaments recently and in the process improved their 2010-2011 record to an impressive 8-3. The Jags posted a 2-1 record in the always tough Horizon Tournament, convincingly beating Shadow Mountain and Deer Valley and losing a close contest against host Horizon by 6 points. Boulder Creek then headed to Chinle Arizona to participate in the Border Classic, representing Arizona against teams from New Mexico. Boulder Creek left the Navajo Nation with an unblemished 2-0 record, defeating Espanola Valley and Cleveland Rio Rancho by comfortable margins. The Jaguars displayed excellent team chemistry in both events and Coach Randy Walker again had the luxury of liberally using his bench to supplement his solid starting core.

Next up for the Jags is a final tournament appearance at the Hobbs Invitational Tournament in New Mexico. This is a prestigious tournament and the Jags are hoping to keep their momentum going with a good showing at this event. Boulder Creek will return to conference play on January 7th when they travel to Kingman. Their next home game is on January 14th when they face off against conference rival O’Connor. The Jags players and coaches extend a Merry Christmas to Jaguar Nation and look forward to your continued support. Go Jags!
