Jags Roll On!
The Boulder Creek Jaguars continued their torrid play and had little trouble dispatching the visiting Kingman Bulldogs Friday, cruising to a lopsided 64-35 victory in front of an enthusiastic home crowd.
Once again defensive effort set the tone as the Jags limited Kingman to 13 first half points and enjoyed a 20 point lead at intermission. Guards Weston Newell, Ryan Zettle and Ryan Crane applied constant pressure on the perimeter while Alex Dykhuizen, Joe Simpson and Josh Braun controlled the boards and intimidated the Bulldogs on the inside, with Dykhuizen registering a team high 4 blocks.
Boulder Creek was able to generate much of their scoring from fast breaks and open looks, usually after limiting Kingman to one attempt from the field on each possession. Offensively the team moved the ball well, unselfishly hitting the open man.
In what is becoming a familiar refrain Coach Randy Walker was again able to distribute minutes to his reserves as the Jaguars were never really challenged in the game. Boulder Creek was paced by Ryan Crane with 18 points, including three field goals from beyond the arc.
Josh Braun and Alex Dykhuizen chipped in with 16 and 8 points respectively. With the victory the Jaguars remain undefeated in region play and sport a 3-0 region record (13-2 overall). The team is now into the heart of their regional schedule and will take on Goldwater next Tuesday at home.
