Jags protect their home court with another win!
The Boulder Creek Jaguars rebounded with a 60-55 victory Friday night against the visiting Red Mountain Lions. Red Mountain entered the game with an impressive 6-1 record and gave the Jags all they could handle for most of the game. The Jags turned in another strong defensive effort, limiting the Lions to only 20 first half points. Ryan Crane had the hot hand in the game scoring a team high 24 points and shooting over 60% from the field. Crane had plenty of help from Josh Braun (14 points), Alex Dykhuizen (12 points), Ryan Zettle (5 points), Weston Newell (3 points) and Joe Simpson (2 points). Boulder Creek coach Randy Walker was forced to make adjustments throughout the contest due to foul trouble, primarily with center Dykhuizen. This forced the Jags to go to a smaller rotation for several minutes. Guards Crane, Zettle and Newell made the adjustment and controlled the game tempo while Braun and Simpson pitched in on the boards during Dykhuizen's absence. The Jags again played good all around team defense against some very athletic players. Cort Watson, Benji Rutan and Jake Hunt also contributed defensively. The win maintained Boulder Creek's unblemished home record and a good crowd was on hand for the contest. Next up for the Jags is a visit to South Mountain on Tuesday, a team that eliminated the Jags during last years playoff run
