Boulder Creek faces first loss of the season

The Boulder Creek Jaguars fell to the Millenium Tigers Thursday night 68-60, in a game that was actually closer than the final score indicated. The Jags put up a good fight and actually lead for most of the first half of the game. The Tigers relied on superior size and quickness to gradually catch and then take the lead on Boulder Creek in the second half. The Jags were lead by Alex Dykhuizen with 20 points, followed by Weston Newell with 10 and Ryan Crane with 9. Dykhuizen also grabbed a team high 13 rebounds. Defensively the team worked hard and pressured their opponents on every possession. Cort Watson again showed a lot of hustle and contributed to the overall defensive effort. Offensively the Jags struggled at times against their bigger opponents but showed a great deal of grit to remain in the game. They were only one or two shots away from regaining the lead late in the 4th quarter but a couple of key shots just didn’t fall, forcing the Jags to foul late in the game. The Jags are now 2 and 1 and look to get back on the winning track against Red Mountain at home on Friday
