Another win for the Jags!

The Boulder Creek Jaguars played almost flawless basketball in obliterating South Mountain Tuesday night in a lopsided 78-43 win on the road. Last season South Mountain bumped the Jags from the state playoffs but it was a very different outcome in this contest. South Mountain won the opening tip but from that point forward it was all Boulder Creek. The Jags turned in another impressive defensive effort and lead by 16 at the half. The second half was even tougher on host South Mountain as they were limited to only 15 points. Offensively the Jags did a great job running their sets and distributing the ball as ten Jags players contributed to a balanced scoring attack. As a team Boulder Creek shot a sizzling 56% from the field. Leading scorers were Ryan Crane (16), Alex Dykhuizen (13), Joe Simpson (10), Josh Braun (9) and Ryan Zettle (8). The Jags also worked hard on the boards, grabbing 36 total rebounds. As a result of maintaining a comfortable lead throughout the contest Coach Randy Walker was able to go deep into his bench and liberally distribute significant minutes to the Jags players, especially in the second half. This approach provided valuable game experience for reserves and allowed the rotation to stay fresh during the game. The Jags return home Friday night to take on region rival Mountain Ridge. Get there early and continue the excellent support the team has been receiving so far this season!
